Film Producer

Nox Sky is hiring a producer to build, manage, and lead our film production team.

Overview

Nox Sky works with professional sports teams to create ongoing short-form documentary films that are published on the Nox Sky platform. The Nox Sky platform is integrated into team mobile apps and web properties, where the films are published and syndicated on other social video platforms. The platform allows for fan engagement on film series featuring one or more team players and team organization members.

Nox Sky creative production team will be based in Los Angeles, CA. The greater Nox Sky team will be fully remote.

Roles and Responsibilities

The producer will lead the production team end-to-end, as a founder level member of the overall Nox Sky team. The producer will work in a fast paced startup environment, taking on any and all tasks to ensure smooth and productive delivery of high quality film on an ongoing basis. The producer will work closely with the professional organizations’ various teams, ensuring clear communication, aligned goals, and strong player/member relationships. In addition, the producer will work closely with the product team to create harmony between the production and product team.

The producer will be located in the Greater Los Angeles, California area, with the ability to travel to meet with teams, travel with the teams, and be on-location for shoots. 

Early Work
  • Hire the first key employees of the production team.
  • Plan and organize all equipment and logistics, including office and operations.
  • Plan and create the early conceptual films with the team, learning and building out resources as needed.
  • Work closely with the CEO to finalize the two first professional sport teams and begin closing more customers. This will require meeting with potential teams and building relationships with team counterparts.
  • Act as interim writer, director, and PR liaison as we build our visual DNA and processes.

Ongoing Work
  • Manage and lead film production teams
  • Maintain smooth pre-production, production, and post-production processes
  • Coordinate asset delivery and publishing with client teams
  • Maintain clear lines of communication and relationships with all client teams
  • Ensure alignment of goals for the client teams and the content
  • Iterate and adapt to changing conditions and situations unique to sport leagues, seasons, and current events
  • Maintain a pulse on world and local issues, including non-sports related topics to help with understanding how teams can make an impact and maintain awareness and be continuously educated on important issues locally and globally
  • Work with technology product team on improvements, automation and AI technology enhancement efforts to continue to grow and maintain our industry lead and innovation in this space.

Requirements

  • Experience in film direction, production, and writing
  • Experience as a director of photography and basic editing
  • Expertise in documentary style filmmaking
  • Experience in releasing films in various settings with substantial involvement in production
  • Expertise and enthusiasm for maintaining strong relationships and communication with organization counterparts
  • Experience with logistics, planning, and pre-production of shoots
  • Experience with all asset organization, storage, and privacy/security best practices for film storage and organization
  • Familiarity with modern filmmaking equipment and systems
  • Experience with pitching and closing new projects with a diverse range of customers
  • Experience with story boarding, concept design and development, and presentations
  • Interest and understanding of competitive and professional sports, including soccer, golf, basketball, tennis and more
  • Able to travel around the Greater Los Angeles area, domestically, and occasionally, internationally
  • Open minded, eager to learn, and a maintain a strong commitment to adding positivity to local communities and the world
  • Interest and familiarity with issues around race, gender, background, and culture
  • Sensitivity, understanding, and openness to a diverse number of unique individuals
